Alexandros has substantial experience, profound knowledge and tactical approach to all areas of maritime, transport, trade and insurance law. He acts, both in and out-of-court, for a diverse range of clients including shipowners, shipmanagers, charterers and lessees, yards, brokers, underwriters, insurance companies and Protection & Indemnity (‘P&I’) Clubs, as well as aviation and logistic companies, freight forwarders and cargo interests.

Executive Summary

Alexandros represents clients’ interests in both contentious and non-contentious legal matters during all stages of negotiation and execution of ship sale & purchase (‘S&P’) agreements, newbuilding contracts, memorandum of agreements (‘MOAs’), escrow arrangements, loan facility agreements, charteparties (‘C/Ps’) and bills of lading (‘B/Ls’).

At the same time, his specialized knowledge and well-established litigation experience does also cover marine casualties (e.g., collision, salvage, general average, pollution, piracy attacks, crew claims, personal injuries, loss of life at sea), arrest of ships and aircrafts, freezing injunction and asset seizure, as well as insolvency and bankruptcy proceedings. Further, he also has front-line expertise in cross-border sale of goods and commodities, cargo claims under contracts of carriage by sea, road, rail and/or air, and insurance disputes.

Apart from litigation and dispute resolution, Alexandros assists corporate clients in company formation and incorporation in overseas and mid-shore jurisdictions, shareholders’ agreements, bank account opening, anti-money laundering (‘AML’) and know-your-customer (‘KYC’) compliance, sanctions and trade policies.
